In combining my photography, painting, and poetry into printmaking, the process becomes a therapeutic way to relay my emotional state into a tangible form.

Inspired by my prose and body, my work mainly consists of self-portraiture. I have a strong interest in the human experience, and the only way I can fully understand is through my own experience. Provocative at first, yet with a longer glance one can see concealment and anonymity. Encouraging the viewer to look deeper.

I obscure my emotions behind material, art processes, and my own writing. I find though that it created an opposite, completely unexpected result- in trying to distance myself from others, I unknowingly give them deeper access. I achieve my work through various photographic and printmaking methods. The final result is a faded, monochromatic, and jagged-edged piece. The greatest benefit of this technique is the unpredictable nature of how each piece will evolve- for that is the art in itself.
